Gold for karate champions in kata, silver for skeet shooters
The sporting achievements of the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the 20th Asian Games, “Aichi-Nagoya 2026,” which will continue until October 6, have continued to grow following a day filled with notable results. During this day, the “Blue” heroes added two new medals, one gold and one silver, to the overall tally to date.
The “Team Kata” event reached the top with a well-deserved gold medal after delivering impressive performances in the competition. The trio consisting of Sayed Mohammad Al-Mousawi, Sayed Salman Al-Mousawi, and Mohammad Hussein rightfully and deservedly secured the gold medal. This valuable victory came after a meticulously executed artistic display, as the trio demonstrated remarkable kinetic harmony and a notable progression in performance level between rounds, culminating in their high confidence, standing on the podium, and the playing of the national anthem. This achievement was added to the sport’s accomplishments in the Games, following champion Abdullah Shaban’s “Kumite” gold medal in the under-60 kg weight class.
In shooting, Kuwait’s heroes added a new achievement to the sport’s record, as the trio of Abdullah Al-Rashidi, Mohammad Al-Dihani, and Mohammad Al-Owaid won the silver medal in the “Team Skeet” event. This followed a fierce battle and intense scoring pressure until the final moments of the concluding rounds, with the athletes hitting 348 targets. Despite the strong team performance, the “Individual Skeet” event saw a decline in the shooters’ results. Although shooter Mohammad Al-Owaid advanced to the final rounds, he exited the finals early.
In squash, player Ammar Al-Tamimi successfully advanced to the Round of 16 after a strong match in which he defeated his Chinese opponent with a score of 3–2. In contrast, player Badr Al-Maghribi’s journey in the Games ended after his elimination in the Round of 32 following a closely contested match in which he delivered a good performance.

National squash team player Ammar Al-Tamimi continues his journey in the Men’s Singles Round of 16 at 8:45 a.m., after successfully securing his place in the Round of 16 by winning his opening match in the Asian Games competition yesterday.
Today’s Competitions
Today’s competitions feature extensive participation by male and female athletes from our national teams across several sports in the Asian Games.
Jana Hussein and Mani Al-Farsi will compete in the Women’s 50m Freestyle race at 4:00 a.m., while Mohammad Al-Zubaid and Abdulrazzaq Al-Duwayhi will participate in the Men’s 50m Butterfly race at 4:14 a.m.
Hassan Al-Foudri and Abdulrahman Al-Mani’ will enter the Men’s Individual Épée fencing heats at 4:00 a.m.
Shooter Abdullah Al-Tarqi and shooter Iman Al-Shamm’ will also participate in the Mixed Skeet heats at 4:00 a.m., with the final scheduled for 8:45 a.m. should they qualify.
Our national weightlifting team will begin its competition with Madaawi Al-Shammari in the Women’s 100m race at 12:41 p.m., while Isa Al-Zankawi and Abdullah Al-Zankawi will compete in the Discus Throw final at 2:55 p.m.
