Al-Yousef and Bahraini Interior Minister: Strengthening Gulf Security Partnerships to Address Challenges
Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, met with Bahraini Minister of Interior, First Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, in Manama on Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance security cooperation and the latest developments on the regional and international scenes, in a bid to support security and stability and strengthen the shared Gulf security framework.
According to a statement issued by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior, the meeting took place during the Bahraini minister’s reception of Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, a visit that reflects the strong fraternal ties and deep historical relations between the two sister countries.
The statement noted that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef affirmed Kuwait’s steadfast support for Bahrain in confronting any threats to its security and stability, underscoring the historical bonds linking the two countries and their peoples.
For his part, the Bahraini Minister of Interior welcomed Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef’s visit, expressing pride in the high level of security cooperation and coordination achieved within the framework of joint efforts to address security challenges and regional shifts.
In this context, he reaffirmed Bahrain’s support for all measures taken by Kuwait to safeguard its security and stability, stressing the importance of enhancing the exchange of expertise across all areas of security work between the two countries, thereby ensuring the preservation of public security and safety within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and its shared principles for Gulf cooperation.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing security cooperation and coordination, as well as the exchange of expertise and information between the two ministries of interior, praising the advanced level of bilateral relations and the close cooperation witnessed in various security fields.
During the meeting, both sides also highlighted the importance of unifying efforts and strengthening the Gulf security partnership to address current challenges and support all initiatives aimed at consolidating the pillars of security and stability and achieving shared interests.
