250 citizens compete for 90 supervisory positions at the Cooperatives
Faisal Mutair – Dr. Khalid Al-Ajmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, confirmed that the ministry began personal interviews on Wednesday with candidates for supervisory positions in the cooperative sector. One hundred candidates participated on the first day, out of a total of 250 candidates who will be interviewed over three days, in preparation for selecting the highest-ranking national talents based on their combined results in the written exam and personal interview for the available supervisory positions.
Al-Ajmi explained, during a meeting with officials at the Ministry of Social Affairs, that the first day’s candidates include 55 applicants for the position of Financial Supervisor and 45 for the position of Administrative Supervisor. He noted that the selection process follows specific regulations and criteria that ensure equal opportunities and fair evaluation among candidates based on assessment results, thereby achieving the objective of opening these positions: attracting national talents capable of bearing the responsibilities of financial and administrative oversight in the cooperative sector.
He stated that the Ministry of Social Affairs is implementing a clear and well-considered policy to place national talents in supervisory roles within the cooperative sector, in line with directives from the political leadership, decisions by the Council of Ministers, and instructions from Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood, Dr. Amal Al-Huwaileh. He emphasized that the goal extends beyond merely filling vacancies to selecting qualified national talents capable of performing their duties with competence and distinction.
Empowering Citizens
Al-Ajmi added that empowering national cadres in supervisory positions is a key aspect of the ministry’s strategy to strengthen the presence of citizens in roles directly related to oversight, monitoring, and the protection of public funds, as well as to enhance discipline and efficiency in cooperative operations. He noted that the ministry views national talents as a fundamental pillar in developing the work system and elevating performance standards in the cooperative sector.
Al-Ajmi clarified that the current selection procedures are based on transparency, impartiality, and equal opportunity, with all candidates subject to uniform criteria to ensure that the most deserving individuals are selected based on final results. In the event of a tie in scores, a public lottery will be conducted. He affirmed the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that every stage of the selection process is clear, organized, and grounded in transparency and impartiality.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs affirmed that the ministry is committed to providing more opportunities for qualified national talents and completing the steps to place them in targeted positions within the cooperative sector. This effort aims to build specialized national cadres capable of fulfilling their responsibilities and to enhance the efficiency of supervisory and administrative operations in cooperative societies.
