The occupation announces thwarting a plot to assassinate extremist minister Ben Gvir

Occupation authorities announced the thwarting of a plot to target the extremist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, after accusing two Palestinians from the Nablus area. The authorities stated that the two had planned to assassinate him and carry out other attacks. According to the indictment, the suspects began in 2024 to consider targeting Ben-Gvir, with one proposing luring him to a specific location and then shooting him from a moving vehicle, before suggesting the use of an explosive-laden drone. The authorities said he attempted to obtain assistance to purchase drone components from China. Occupation authorities added that, according to the indictment, the suspects also planned to carry out other attacks using explosive-laden vehicles and drones, as well as shooting incidents and the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers. They were also accused of possessing weapons and ammunition, conducting firearms training, and attempting to recruit other individuals.
