Appeals Court upholds death sentence for citizen who killed his wife by running her over in Al-Mutlaa

The Judicial Editor: The Court of Appeal, presided over by Judge Nasr Salem Al-Haid and comprising Judges Mutib Al-Arzi and Saud Al-Sanani, ruled on Wednesday to uphold the death sentence for a Kuwaiti national who killed his wife by running her over in Bar Al-Mutla. The man was convicted of murdering his wife after beating and then running her over without mercy, in a crime that shocked Kuwaiti society and occurred during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The court had previously referred the defendant to a psychiatric evaluation to assess his mental faculties. The psychiatric report concluded that the defendant was exaggerating the display of non-genuine symptoms, following a “memory malingering” test.
