Ministry of Commerce introduces 7 new economic activities

Ali Al-Khalidi: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued Ministerial Decision No. 184 of 2026 regarding the introduction of several new commercial activities, within the limits set by the Unified Guide for the Classification of Economic Activities of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The decision included adding four specific activities in the maritime sector, subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Interior (General Directorate of Coast Guard), which encompassed: selling and delivering consumer orders by sea, maritime taxi services, floating recreational activities, advertising display services in maritime areas, floating maritime repair and maintenance services, and maritime exercises and training. The decision also introduced the activity of manufacturing automated movable shading systems made of aluminum and tensioned fabrics within the plastics and metals industries sector, under the umbrella of the Public Authority for Industry. The decision officially entered into force on the date of its issuance, September 17, 2026.
