Al-Baladiya Technical: Approval of establishing a center for multiple sclerosis treatment
The Technical Committee of the Municipal Council approved, during its meeting today, the Ministry of Health’s request to allocate a site for the establishment of a Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Center in the Gurnatah area within the Al-Salimiyat Coast district, with an area of 20,000 square meters, including the creation of an entrance and exit for the site. This decision implements Cabinet Decision No. 417, dated April 7, 2026.
The head of the Technical Committee, Engineer Munira Al-Amir, affirmed that the approval to allocate the site was issued in accordance with the Cabinet Decision, which included approval of the donation offered by Kuwait Finance House (KFH) for the establishment of the Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Center, and tasked the Kuwait Municipality with taking the necessary steps to allocate a site for the benefit of the Ministry of Health, in preparation for the center’s construction by the donating entity.
She explained that the proposed site is located near the Beit Abdullah Natural Park and the Kuwaiti Association for Child Care, noting that the Committee considered the technical and regulatory aspects related to the site when reviewing the application.
Munira Al-Amir clarified that the Committee’s approval was subject to several conditions, most notably providing the necessary parking spaces within the site boundaries, submitting an environmental and social impact assessment report in accordance with the Environmental Protection Law, and providing a traffic study prior to issuing the permit. Additionally, compliance with the conditions outlined in the responses of the Sub-Committee for Facilities and Public Services, and coordination with it before implementation, are required.
She added that the relevant departments will be authorized to make any adjustments or modifications to the site’s dimensions and area, provided that the total area does not exceed the approved limit, in case of any conflict with infrastructure services or other regulatory requirements.
In another health and service-related matter, the Committee discussed the Ministry of Health’s request to allocate Plot No. 162, located in the Second Shuwaikh Industrial Area, Plot 2, New Shuwaikh, as a site for pest and rodent control services, in implementation of Cabinet Decision No. 659. The Committee also confirmed its approval of the request, noting that the plot’s area is 22,500 square meters, with the relevant departments authorized to adjust the site’s dimensions and area, not exceeding the approved limit, in case of any conflict with existing infrastructure services or regulatory requirements.
The Committee also approved a proposal to amend Articles 2 and 8 of Ministerial Decision No. 322 of 2023 concerning the system for subdividing and parceling land prepared for construction and its amendments. The amendments include reorganizing several documents and procedures required when submitting subdivision and parceling applications, including documents proving ownership and certificates related to real rights, notifying holders of real rights if they exist, and organizing procedures related to portions of land that revert to the state after project approval.
Sports Police Union Headquarters
The Technical Committee approved the Ministry of Interior’s request to amend the Municipal Council’s decision regarding the location of the Police Horse Breeding and Training Facility in the Central Region. The amendment changes the site’s designation to become the headquarters of the Sports Police Union, with an expansion of the site to accommodate the establishment of sports fields and the practice of athletic activities. The Committee approved the expansion of the site, whose original area is 75,000 square meters, to approximately 102,000 square meters after expansion, to be utilized for sports fields and athletic activities.
