Iranian President's plane lands in Algeria after technical malfunction

Algeria’s official television reported that the private plane of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian landed on Tuesday at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers following a technical stopover. The broadcaster revealed that the Iranian president was received in the airport’s VIP hall by Saïd Saidou, Minister of the Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, and Soufiane Chaïb, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of the national diaspora abroad, according to the German News Agency. Algerian television did not disclose the departure point of the Iranian president’s aircraft or its next destination, although some sources suggested it was en route to New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.
