Qatar's Emir: The region is going through one of its most dangerous phases

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad affirmed that the region is going through one of its most dangerous phases, noting that the region's crises are the result of years of postponement and unrealistic solutions. In his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, the Qatari Emir stressed that the path to resolving disputes lies in dialogue and negotiation, explaining that the core of the dangerous situation the region is witnessing is the absence of a regional system for collective security that respects the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity of states. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad also indicated that Doha remains convinced of the possibility of resolving the Gulf crisis through diplomatic means, emphasizing that the opportunity for a diplomatic and peaceful resolution must not be missed. He further noted that wisdom and firmness are, for his country, "two sides of the same coin." Regarding the war in Gaza, the Qatari Emir stated that Israeli leaders have become open in asserting that the most suitable solution is the displacement of Gaza's residents, which they term "migration." He added that his country has not ceased its mediation efforts in Gaza since the first day, aiming to reach a ceasefire agreement. He affirmed that Qatar's approach in every crisis is based on combining steadfastness with flexibility, and prioritizing the interests of the nation, its people, and the residents on its soil.
