King of Jordan: The expansionist ambitions of the occupation government have become a regional threat

Jordanian King Abdullah II warned that the expansionist ambitions of the Israeli government have become a regional threat, emphasizing that any threat to Jordan’s northern borders or its water security constitutes a threat to its national security. In his address to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, he stressed that Jordan will defend its security, describing Syria as a warning that the world is ignoring amid these ambitions.

On the Palestinian file, King Abdullah II stated that the current Israeli government continues to ignore the agreement reached regarding Gaza, and that Israel’s attempts to divert attention from the reality of the conflict in the Palestinian territories are no longer effective. He noted that the occupation’s practices in the West Bank and Gaza aim to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, and considered settler attacks on Palestinians as part of a policy aimed at their expulsion. He criticized Israel for ignoring these violations while presenting itself as a state of law.

He affirmed that accountability begins with calling things by their proper names, including attempts to erase the Palestinian presence. The Jordanian monarch also addressed the repercussions of the war on Iran, stating that it demonstrated how quickly the effects of the conflict spread beyond the region, particularly affecting energy and food supplies, and warned that the continuation of conflicts leads to their escalation.
