Trump: I have a big decision to make regarding Iran; either we reach an agreement or we completely eliminate it

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he faces a "major decision" regarding Iran, which involves choosing between reaching an agreement that would allow it to rebuild itself and transform into a "much greater" nation, or "completely destroying it." He affirmed that he expects to reach a deal with Tehran after the U.S. midterm elections.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, Trump added that the United States "will end the matter with Iran one way or another," calling on all countries to join Washington in enforcing the economic sanctions imposed on Tehran.

He noted that he had offered Iran economic cooperation in exchange for ending its nuclear program and its support for terrorism, but that it had rejected the offer, which he deemed a "major mistake."

Trump said Iran is waiting to see his performance in the midterm elections, but it does not realize that he is not a candidate in them, adding that he believes reaching an agreement with it will be possible after they conclude.

Regarding international conflicts, Trump stated: "Since taking office, I have had the honor of ending eight wars, some of which had lasted for decades," while affirming that his administration will end the war in Ukraine "faster than anyone expects."

On the military front, Trump announced that 18 large ammunition factories will soon be opened by major defense companies around the world, explaining that these facilities will enable the United States to supply its allies with their needs at a faster rate.

Concerning the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said the U.S. Navy has recently provided escort for more than one billion barrels of oil passing through the strait.
