Al-Mushaan Participates in the 2026 Global Sustainable Transport Forum in Beijing

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan participated today, Tuesday, in the proceedings of the Global Forum on Sustainable Transport 2026, organized by China’s Ministry of Transport in Beijing under the theme “Sustainable Transport: Easier Mobility for People and Smoother Flow of Goods.” The forum was attended by Chinese Minister of Transport Liu Wei, ministers and heads of delegations from various countries around the world, and representatives of international organizations, with the aim of enhancing international cooperation in sustainable transport and facilitating the exchange of expertise among nations.

Delivering Kuwait’s address during the forum’s plenary session, Al-Mashaan emphasized that developing modern and sustainable transport infrastructure is a fundamental pillar for achieving the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035. She noted that sustainable transport represents a balance between environmental responsibility, economic viability, accessibility, and operational efficiency. She further explained that Kuwait’s approach focuses on building an integrated transport system that combines connectivity, accessibility, economic efficiency, environmental responsibility, and long-term sustainability.

The forum discusses five key themes: deepening global initiatives, enhancing connectivity and building an integrated transport system, prioritizing green transport, leveraging artificial intelligence for transport transformation, and ensuring universal access to sustainable transport services. It brings together national leaders, transport ministers, heads of international organizations, ambassadors, representatives of the business sector, and academic experts.

The forum is part of efforts to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021–2030, as well as the UN Sustainable Transport Agenda 2026–2035. It is organized by the Global Center for Innovation and Knowledge on Sustainable Transport, affiliated with China’s Ministry of Transport, and aims to build international consensus on a safe, efficient, green, inclusive, and resilient transport system.
