Explosion at Syrian army site near Al-Ays village, south of Aleppo

The Syrian state news agency (SANA) reported a powerful explosion at a military site near the town of Al-Ays, south of Aleppo, followed by a series of successive blasts. Feisal Mohammad Ali, commander of Aleppo’s civil defense operations, said the explosions were still ongoing in the Al-Ays area, hampering the arrival of additional rescue and medical teams at the site. He warned civilians to stay away from the explosion zone. Meanwhile, internal security forces in Aleppo province mobilized their personnel and closed the Aleppo-Damascus highway and other roads leading to the site in the southern part of the province, according to SANA.
