Abdullah Shaban wins Kuwait's first gold medal at the Asian Games

Kuwaiti champion Abdullah Shaaban secured first place and the gold medal in the karate kumite event during his current participation in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, in the under-60 kg weight category. Shaaban’s gold medal marks the first for the Kuwaiti delegation in the Games, while Qatar’s Abdulrahman Abdulhamid claimed second place. The 20th Asian Games in Japan, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, will continue until October 4, with over 11,000 athletes from 45 countries competing across 43 different sports.
