Kuwait and Canada: Memorandum of Understanding on Defense and Security Cooperation

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jeraih Al-Jaber signed a memorandum of understanding with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, between the Government of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Defense, and the Government of Canada, represented by the Canadian Commercial Corporation, concerning cooperation in the fields of defense and security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that the signing took place at the conclusion of a meeting between Sheikh Jeraih Al-Jaber and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand during his official visit to the Canadian capital, Ottawa.
The statement added that the meeting reviewed the close relations between the two friendly countries and reaffirmed both sides' commitment to intensifying Kuwaiti-Canadian coordination on all fronts and strengthening the frameworks for bilateral cooperation in various fields, reflecting the strength of the distinguished relations between the two countries and advancing them toward broader horizons while serving their shared interests.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments in regional and international affairs and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.
