Coalition: Intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh

Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” announced that the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the city of Riyadh early Saturday morning.

Al-Maliki clarified that the escalation by the terrorist Houthi militia and its continued attempts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in the capital, Riyadh—a city home to more than eight million citizens and residents—confirm that the militia is deliberately and systematically targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in a terrorist and hostile manner.

He added that the Houthi militia had attempted to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in the cities of Bisha, Taif, Farsan, and Yanbu, but these hostile attempts were thwarted by the air defense systems.

Al-Maliki affirmed the Coalition’s inherent right to take whatever measures it deems appropriate, in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules, to deter the terrorist Houthi militia’s behavior.
