Mexican Ambassador: 25 agreements with Kuwait, looking forward to more partnerships

Mexico’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Eduardo Patricio Peña Haller, affirmed that Mexican-Kuwaiti relations are built on solid foundations of mutual respect, friendship, and a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation. He noted Mexico’s desire to deepen political dialogue and expand economic, trade, cultural, and educational ties, while opening new areas of cooperation, including sports.

He made these remarks during the celebration of the 216th anniversary of Mexican independence, attended by Nawah Abdul-Latif Al-Ahmad, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asian Affairs.

The ambassador stated that Mexico and Kuwait established diplomatic relations in 1975, and since then, relations have developed on a solid basis of mutual respect, friendship, and a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation. He pointed out that bilateral relations encompass political dialogue and economic, trade, cultural, and educational cooperation, in addition to growing ties between the peoples of the two countries.

He emphasized that Mexico places special importance on continuing to develop and expand its economic partnership with Kuwait. He explained that, according to the latest official trade data available from the Mexican side, Mexican exports to Kuwait reached approximately $51 million in 2026 so far.

He noted that Mexican exports to Kuwait this year included vehicles for cargo transport, auto parts, air and vacuum pumps, iron and steel pipes, as well as agricultural products, reflecting the capacity of Mexican companies to participate effectively in the Kuwaiti market.

He added that Mexico and Kuwait have signed more than 25 agreements, and explained that the Mexican Embassy is making significant efforts to enhance scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation between the two countries, enabling universities and research centers to encourage the participation of Kuwaiti and Mexican youth in advancing joint cooperation projects.
