Turkish star Aras Bulut, star of the series "The Pit," arrested in a drug case

Turkish authorities arrested the Turkish actor Aras Bulut İynemli, known in the Arab world for his role in the series “The Hole,” on Friday as part of a broad investigation into drugs that included a number of celebrities from the arts and sports sectors and well-known figures in Turkey. The public prosecutor’s office in Bakırköy, Istanbul, stated that the investigation targeted individuals known in the fields of acting, singing, sports, business, and social media, after evidence was uncovered that authorities said supported suspicions of drug or stimulant use, facilitating their use, or providing venues for consumption. The prosecutor’s office issued orders to detain 18 suspects, conduct searches and biological tests on them, and take their statements, before presenting them to the public prosecutor’s office to complete legal procedures. The operation resulted in the arrest of 15 individuals, including Aras Bulut İynemli, actresses Melis Sezen and Nilperi Şahinkaya, rapper Sefo, former Turkish footballer Hassan Şaş, and several other names.
