Seven-day campaign results: 21 cases referred to the Public Prosecution and 250 vehicles impounded
The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Security Directorates Affairs Sector – Hawally Governorate Security Directorate, carried out a large-scale security operation in cooperation with the Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition to enhance security presence, apprehend wanted individuals and violators, and enforce the law.
In a press statement issued today (Thursday), the Ministry of Interior said the operation resulted in the apprehension of 122 wanted individuals and violators, the execution of 195 security deployment measures covering checkpoints, security posts, and identity verification points, the issuance of 547 traffic violation tickets, the seizure of 5 wanted vehicles, and the issuance of 62 warnings and removal notices for violating vehicles.
The ministry added that the operation also led to the removal of 44 abandoned vehicles, including cars, caravans, buses, motorcycles, and outdoor structures such as majlis (traditional gathering halls) and external walls; the provision of 34 humanitarian assistance cases; the issuance of 7 fines for smoking in enclosed areas; the recording of 44 violations and reports by the Kuwait Municipality; the issuance of 14 violations by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition; and the destruction of 12 kilograms of adulterated food products.
It confirmed that the necessary legal measures were taken against the apprehended individuals and violators by the relevant authorities, each within its area of jurisdiction.
Traffic operations
In a separate development, security operations conducted by the General Traffic Directorate during the past week resulted in the issuance of more than 34,000 traffic violation tickets, the apprehension of 17 individuals evading the law, and the impoundment of 250 vehicles and 5 motorcycles. Additionally, 21 minors were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution after being caught driving vehicles without valid driver’s licenses.
