Kingdom of Bahrain to Host the International Tourism Investment Forum 2027

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, the Kingdom of Bahrain will host the International Tourism Investment Forum from January 10–12, 2027, as part of a strategic move to strengthen the Kingdom’s presence on the global tourism investment map.

Fatima bint Jafar Al-Serhani, Minister of Tourism, and Sheikhah Nasser Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), signed the agreement for Bahrain’s hosting of the Forum on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market 2026 in Dubai, attended by senior officials and representatives of relevant entities in the tourism sector.

Bahrain’s first-time hosting of the Forum aligns with its ongoing efforts to enhance its status as an attractive destination for tourism investments, highlighting the promising investment opportunities and projects the Kingdom offers. It also aims to strengthen direct communication channels between investors, policymakers, and both public and private sector entities, thereby contributing to attracting high-quality investments and supporting the growth and competitiveness of the tourism sector.

In this context, the Minister emphasized that signing the agreement with the UNWTO marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s journey to develop its tourism sector and enhance its investment appeal on the international stage. She noted that hosting the International Tourism Investment Forum reflects growing confidence in the Kingdom’s assets, opportunities, and infrastructure, which are capable of supporting further high-quality tourism investments.

She added, “Signing this agreement with the UNWTO represents a crucial step toward consolidating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a regional and international destination for tourism investment. Hosting the International Tourism Investment Forum in 2027 will provide a global platform bringing together investors, policymakers, experts, and relevant stakeholders to explore new opportunities and develop strategic partnerships that drive the growth of the tourism sector. It also presents an important opportunity to showcase the Kingdom’s attractive investment environment, advanced infrastructure, strategic location, and diverse tourism assets, alongside presenting available projects and opportunities to international investors. I am confident that hosting this event will open new channels of cooperation and partnership with investors and specialized institutions across global markets.”

For her part, Sheikhah Nasser Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the UNWTO, stated, “We are pleased to collaborate with the Kingdom of Bahrain in hosting this international event next year, which comes at a time when the tourism sector is undergoing rapid transformation. This event underscores the pivotal role of investment in supporting tourism growth and enhancing its ability to achieve sustainable economic and social impact. Bahrain possesses key assets that qualify it as an attractive platform for tourism investment. Furthermore, the hosting will provide a significant opportunity to present the Kingdom’s projects and investment opportunities to a large audience of international investors, strengthen communication between the public and private sectors, and highlight best practices in the development and financing of tourism projects.”

The International Tourism Investment Forum is expected to witness broad participation from senior officials, investors, policymakers, representatives of the public and private sectors, and international organizations. This will provide a specialized international platform to discuss investment opportunities and partnerships in the tourism sector, exchange expertise and experiences, and showcase global trends and future opportunities in tourism investment.

The Forum will also include specialized sessions and discussions addressing recent developments in tourism investment, key trends, and investment opportunities within the sector, with a focus on presenting the Kingdom of Bahrain as a central hub for tourism investment opportunities. It will highlight the Kingdom’s assets, advanced infrastructure, projects, and investment prospects for investors from around the world.

The agreement signed with the UNWTO reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to expanding international cooperation in the field of tourism investment and leveraging international expertise and knowledge to develop the investment environment and enhance the sector’s competitiveness. Additionally, hosting the Forum offers an opportunity to strengthen the Kingdom’s presence at specialized international forums on tourism investment, presenting Bahrain’s tourism opportunities and projects to the global investment community, thereby supporting efforts to attract new investments and develop long-term partnerships.
