British Ambassador: We share a long history of partnership and cooperation with Kuwait

The Acting Director General of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Mohammed Al-Munaee, held talks with the British Ambassador to Kuwait, Qudsi Rashid, on ways to enhance bilateral media cooperation and exchange expertise in service of shared interests. During his reception of Ambassador Rashid on Monday, Al-Munaee underscored the deep historical ties between Kuwait and the United Kingdom, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the media institutions of the two friendly countries to expand areas of coordination and exchange of information and professional expertise. He stated that KUNA is keen to develop its partnerships with international media organizations and to benefit from British experience and expertise in various media fields, in addition to highlighting Kuwait’s national identity, its progress, achievements, and rich history across various domains, as well as its humanitarian role worldwide, in British media outlets. For his part, Ambassador Rashid affirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing media cooperation with Kuwait, pointing out the important role of media in documenting the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and showcasing their continuous development in various fields. He expressed his interest in closely learning about Kuwaiti culture and its distinctiveness, voicing his admiration for its authenticity, richness, and diversity, and for the enduring values it reflects in Kuwaiti society, noting that understanding local culture is a key element in fostering communication and closeness between the peoples of the two friendly countries. He said that Kuwaiti-British relations are built on a long history of cooperation and partnership, and he expressed his aspiration to continue working on developing cooperation between the media institutions of the two countries and exchanging expertise to enhance communication and understanding between their peoples. Attending the meeting were Essam Al-Ghanim, Deputy Director General of the Editorial Sector at KUNA; Badr Al-Sharhan, Acting Editor-in-Chief; Essam Al-Rouaih, Director of Marketing and Public Relations; and Maima Al-Farsi, Director of the Director General’s Office.
