"Integrity": Kuwaiti project to unify anti-corruption efforts in the Gulf
Kuwait, represented by the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaah), participated in the 11th meeting of the Committee of Deputies for Combating Corruption in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held via video conferencing technology and chaired by Dr. Majid Al-Daihani, Deputy Chairman of Nazaah.
In a press statement on Monday, Nazaah said that Al-Daihani praised the Gulf efforts to strengthen the integrity system and combat corruption, amid rising international demands to entrench integrity values and enhance supervisory frameworks. He emphasized the commitment to cooperation with GCC countries and their prominent initiatives within the framework of the Ministerial Committee for Combating Corruption.
The statement added that the meeting discussed a project submitted by Kuwait to unify Gulf efforts aimed at preventing and combating corruption, and to establish a procedure for organizing the work of the Experts Committee for Combating Corruption in the GCC countries. The project aims to govern and regulate the Experts Committee’s work to enhance coordination among member states. It also seeks to unify opinions and positions in relevant regional and international forums, in line with the aspirations of the heads of anti-corruption agencies in the GCC countries.
The meeting discussed the GCC Countries’ Competition for Research and Studies in the fields of integrity protection and combating corruption for 2026, titled “Combating Corruption through Non-Judicial Means: Theoretical Approaches and Practical Experiences,” and reviewed the results of research evaluations submitted by reviewers appointed from GCC countries.
Additionally, the meeting discussed holding a workshop titled “Mechanisms for Enhancing Integrity and Compliance in the Private Sector,” and reviewed recommendations from the Gulf workshop held last July, titled “Combating Corruption and Identifying Beneficial Ownership in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries,” which was organized by Nazaah in coordination with the General Secretariat.
