Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs: Launch of Waqf Banks Service for the Awqaf Authority via 'Sahl'

Kuwait’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Osaimi, announced today, Sunday, the official launch of the General Secretariat for Endowments’ waqf banks service through the unified government services application “Sahl,” to advance digital transformation and enhance service delivery, thereby simplifying procedures and expanding e-waqf options.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Minister Al-Osaimi stated that the service enables users to complete waqf procedures with ease, convenience, and security, from filling in data and selecting a waqf bank to confirming the transaction and receiving an electronic notification, without the need to visit the General Secretariat for Endowments.

He noted that the waqf services encompass a number of waqf banks that play a vital role in implementing various development projects, including those related to mosques, orphan care, water provision, and the Kuwait Charity Waqf.

He added that the General Secretariat for Endowments attaches great importance to fulfilling its mandated role and responsibly executing waqf deeds, and seeks through its waqf projects to strengthen the role of waqf in serving society and achieving sustainable development.

Expressing his gratitude and appreciation to donors, he called on them to continue contributing to the General Secretariat for Endowments, in observance of the noble Prophetic tradition, to sustain giving and enhance the role of waqf in community development.
