Saudi Arabia: We will provide the Iraqi government the opportunity to prevent attacks from its territory against the Kingdom

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, at the request of the Iraqi Prime Minister, the Kingdom chose not to respond at this stage to the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions by drones originating from Iraq. In a statement, the ministry said: “At the request of the Iraqi Prime Minister, to provide the Iraqi government with the opportunity to take measures sufficient to prevent attacks launched from Iraqi territory against the Kingdom and neighboring countries, the Kingdom has refrained from responding at this stage and has supported the Iraqi government’s efforts.” The Kingdom also affirmed that it reserves the right to take all measures necessary to protect its sovereignty, security, facilities, citizens, and residents.
