Saudi Arabia: East-West pipeline targeted by multiple drones from Iraq

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strongest condemnation of the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions, following several missile launches from Iraq, which resulted in human casualties and some damage that is currently being addressed. The Ministry clarified that, at the request of the Iraqi Prime Minister, the Kingdom has chosen to provide the Iraqi government with the opportunity to take measures sufficient to prevent attacks launched from Iraqi territory against the Kingdom and neighboring countries, and has therefore refrained from responding at this stage, while supporting the Iraqi government’s efforts. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirms that it reserves the right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security, facilities, citizens, and residents.
