UAE: We hope Algeria's decision to sever diplomatic relations is temporary

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Thursday regarding the decision by the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to sever diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates. The Ministry affirmed in its statement that the UAE reiterates its commitment to maintaining relations with all countries in a manner that serves the interests of their peoples, and its respect for its ties with all nations, as well as its constant dedication to developing and strengthening these relationships in ways that advance shared interests, promote understanding, cooperation, and prosperity. The Ministry noted that the UAE hopes this decision will be temporary, in order to preserve the fraternal bonds between the two brotherly peoples. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reaffirmed the UAE’s appreciation for the Algerian people and its pride in the ties connecting the two societies, particularly among the Algerian community residing in the UAE and visitors, and emphasized its commitment to sustaining and enhancing these ties and shared interests.
