Kuwaiti-Iraqi-US talks focus on enhancing security and defense cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah emphasized the importance of continuing consultations and coordination with the Iraqi and American sides, and of enhancing security and defense cooperation to address common challenges in light of regional developments, in a manner that serves shared interests and contributes to preserving the security and stability of the region. This statement was made during a meeting chaired by Sheikh Fahad on Thursday at Bayan Palace, attended by delegations from the brotherly Republic of Iraq and the friendly United States of America, along with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdul Wahab Ahmed Al-Wahab, representatives of the Ministry of Defense, and a number of diplomatic, security, and military leaders.

The meeting addressed a number of security and defense files of common interest, as well as the existing coordination among participating parties, which enhances integration and the exchange of expertise and supports efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in the region. At the outset of the meeting, Sheikh Fahad welcomed the two delegations. The sides reviewed areas of common cooperation and ways to strengthen them, and discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, alongside exchanging views on regional developments and current events.

The delegation from the brotherly Republic of Iraq was led by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shamri, Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and included a number of officials and specialized leaders from the Iraqi side. The delegation from the friendly United States of America was led by Admiral Liam Collins, Commander of the Joint Task Force for Operation Inherent Resolve, and included a number of officials and specialized leaders from the American side.
