Two new gold and silver medals for the powerlifting champions at the Junior Arab Championships

Kuwait’s national junior athletics team added two new medals to the country’s tally during the 12th Arab Junior Athletics Championships held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The athletes secured a gold and a silver medal, raising the team’s total to seven diverse medals.

Champion Abdulrahman Al-Azmi claimed the gold medal in the triple jump, setting a new personal best of 14.53 meters. Meanwhile, champion Abdulkarim Al-Hasan finished second, earning the silver medal in the hammer throw with a new personal best of 64.57 meters.

For his part, Falah Sanidh, a member of the board of directors of the Athletics Federation and head of the national teams, expressed his satisfaction with the outstanding performance displayed by Kuwaiti male and female athletes during the championships. He emphasized that securing seven medals at the outset of the event—three gold, three silver, and one bronze—along with several new personal records set by the athletes, serves as a positive indicator of the development of Kuwaiti athletics and the success of the preparation phase for the championships.
