Kuwait Olympic Committee President Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah affirmed that Kuwait’s participation in the 20th Asian Games, “Aichi-Nagoya 2026,” scheduled from the 19th of this month to October 4 next year, represents a significant milestone for Kuwaiti sports and an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of Kuwaiti athletes at one of the largest Asian sporting platforms. Sheikh Al-Sabah confirmed that the Kuwaiti delegation comprises 120 athletes, competing in 16 sports: shooting, athletics, football, golf, modern pentathlon, fencing, teqball, sport climbing, karate, equestrian, squash, jiu-jitsu, swimming, handball, padel, and sailing. He noted that the Kuwait Olympic Committee has ensured all necessary preparations to enable the delegation to present itself in a manner befitting the name of the State of Kuwait.

He also extended his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait and His Highness the Crown Prince, in recognition of their continuous support for Kuwaiti sports and their attention to Kuwaiti athletes. Furthermore, he expressed his thanks to the private sector, represented by Mobile Telecommunications Company (Zain) and Kuwait Finance House, for their strategic partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee and their ongoing support for Kuwaiti sports and athletes.

The Committee President urged the athletes to represent Kuwait with high spirit and strong determination, wishing them success and achievements that would please the Kuwaiti people and raise the national flag high at the Asian Games. These remarks by Sheikh Al-Sabah coincided with the departure of the official delegation from the country to Japan, via various flights for the national teams, each according to its schedule for participation in the different events.
