Apple officially announces the iPhone 18 Pro series

Apple revealed the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during its event today, beginning its showcase of the new generation of its flagship devices before unveiling the other models in the iPhone 18 series. The two phones feature a design that matches the colors of the aluminum frame and the rear glass, with four color options: Dark Black, Polished Silver, the new Glacier icy blue, and Burgundy.
The iPhone 18 Pro is powered by the new A20 Pro chip, one of the most notable upgrades of the new generation. Apple emphasized delivering higher performance and advanced capabilities for processing artificial intelligence tasks. The company stated that the iPhone 18 Pro offers the longest battery life in iPhone history, a move aimed at improving the device’s ability to operate for longer periods without needing to be recharged.
During the unveiling, Apple also highlighted its Apple Intelligence capabilities. Lilian Rincon explained that the iPhone 18 Pro will have access to the company’s latest on-device foundational models, enabling certain AI tasks to be performed directly on the phone. This includes features related to the Siri voice assistant, with a focus on fast response times and on-device data processing.
Privacy remains at the core of the iPhone 18 Pro experience. Apple emphasized that its AI system is designed to keep personal data under user control, rather than relying primarily on collecting and transmitting data to external servers. These messages align with Apple’s strategy to promote on-device AI processing, while leveraging cloud-based models when necessary.
