Kuwaiti players secured third place in the overall national standings at the Asian Continental Jiu-Jitsu Championship (AJP Tour Asia), held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, with more than 2,000 male and female athletes representing 90 countries.

Ahmed Al-Rashid, coach at Kuwait Jiu-Jitsu Academy, accredited by the Kuwait Olympic Committee, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that Kuwait’s third-place finish reflects the advanced level reached by Kuwaiti jiu-jitsu and the ability of Kuwaiti athletes to compete and achieve top positions in continental and international tournaments.

Al-Rashid added that this achievement is the result of continuous efforts and the work undertaken by Kuwaiti coaches in preparing athletes technically and physically, alongside instilling values of discipline, commitment, perseverance, and sportsmanship, which contribute to developing players capable of representing the State of Kuwait with honor.

He noted that Kuwaiti players demonstrated determination, persistence, high competitive spirit, and a strong desire to deliver their best performances and raise the Kuwaiti flag at international sporting events.

Al-Rashid praised the support provided by the Kuwait Olympic Committee, represented by its Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Committee, to Kuwaiti athletes, as well as its efforts to develop the sport and create a suitable environment for players to achieve further successes and accomplishments.
