Al Jazeera Airways contributes $2 million to the Emergency Response Fund

Kuwait Airways announced its contribution of two million US dollars to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, in support of the Kuwaiti government’s efforts to address the current regional crisis and assist affected communities. In addition to its financial contribution, Kuwait Airways placed its operational capabilities at the service of the State of Kuwait to support air cargo transport operations. During the temporary closure of Kuwait International Airport earlier this year, Kuwait Airways launched the “Burqa Initiative,” aimed at connecting Kuwait with the world during the exceptional period. Under this initiative, the company operated more than 1,500 flights, transporting 200,000 passengers and over 500 tons of cargo via King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The company also directly deployed 14 aircraft and more than 500 staff members, alongside other operational resources, to support the transport of citizens, essential personnel, humanitarian aid, and other vital supplies, as needed and in coordination with relevant authorities.
Over more than two decades of operations based in Kuwait, Kuwait Airways has built a distinguished record of supporting the country during national and regional crises. The company has previously deployed its fleet, staff, airport infrastructure, and logistics network to operate evacuation flights, humanitarian missions, and the transport of essential supplies, ensuring vital air connectivity under various exceptional circumstances.
Kuwait Airways Board of Directors Chairman, Marwan Boudi, said: “Kuwait Airways takes pride in its Kuwaiti roots, as a national carrier whose journey spans more than 20 years of service to our homeland. Our responsibility to the State of Kuwait extends far beyond operating flights and connecting people and destinations; it means contributing to the service of our nation, standing by its leadership and people, and being always ready to play our role whenever Kuwait needs us. Our contribution to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund reflects this commitment, as does the support we provide through our personnel and operational capabilities. We have placed our aircraft, expertise, and resources at the service of the Kuwaiti government to support the transport of individuals, humanitarian aid, and essential supplies wherever needed.”
He added: “Our team has repeatedly demonstrated its exceptional ability to handle difficult circumstances with flexibility, professionalism, and a humanitarian spirit. As always, the entire Kuwait Airways family stands united in support of Kuwait, fully prepared to play its role and support national response efforts to the best of our ability.”
Kuwait Airways expressed its sincere appreciation to the leadership of the State of Kuwait, government entities, emergency services, and frontline workers for their continuous efforts in protecting the nation and supporting its people. Kuwait Airways will continue to support national response efforts in close coordination with the Government of the State of Kuwait, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and other relevant authorities, providing operational and humanitarian support as needed.
