U.S. Central Command: We destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the destruction of five Iranian crude oil tankers in response to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting a U.S. warship with ballistic missiles twice over two days. CENTCOM stated that the warship successfully evaded both attacks and continued its patrols without any casualties, emphasizing that all IRGC attempts to target U.S. Navy warships had failed and resulted in no injuries among U.S. personnel. The command added that the tankers “Kavus,” “Sharmnar,” “Horizon 1,” and “Resco” were destroyed in the Gulf of Oman, along with the tanker “Darya” near Kharg Island. According to U.S. Central Command, Iran uses these tankers as part of a secret network valued at billions of dollars to fund the IRGC and its proxies in the region.
