Tajikistan Ambassador to Al-Qabas, after presenting credentials to the Emir: Strengthening the established partnership with Kuwait in various fields
Mays Al-Suqair: The new Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait, Khosrow Nazari, affirmed that his country attaches special importance to its relations with Kuwait, stressing that the upcoming phase represents an important opportunity to elevate bilateral relations to more advanced levels and translate the firm political will of the leaderships of both countries into practical and tangible results.
Speaking to Al-Qabas after presenting his credentials to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Ambassador Nazari said he conveyed the warmest greetings of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to His Highness, accompanied by his sincere wishes for His Highness’s good health and well-being, and for Kuwait and its noble people, wishing them continued security, stability, and prosperity.
He added that he had the honor of renewing the gracious invitation extended by President Emomali Rahmon to His Highness the Amir to visit the Republic of Tajikistan at a time convenient for His Highness.
The Tajik ambassador clarified that his country views Kuwait as an important partner, noting that Kuwait was among the first Arab countries to establish close relations with Tajikistan since the early years of its independence. He affirmed that relations between the two countries are currently built on a solid foundation of friendship, trust, and mutual respect, and are witnessing continuous development, creating broader opportunities to enhance cooperation and partnership in various fields.
He expressed his country’s great appreciation for the support Kuwait has provided over the past years to Tajikistan’s development process, particularly through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, including its contribution to the Rogun Hydropower Project, as well as several projects in the fields of roads and educational institutions.
On the opening of the embassy, Nazari stressed the special importance his country attaches to the opening of the Kuwaiti embassy in Dushanbe, considering this step a historic milestone that reflects the depth of mutual understanding between the two countries and opens a new and extended chapter in Tajik-Kuwaiti relations. He said that the presence of the Kuwaiti embassy in Dushanbe will contribute to enhancing direct communication between the two countries and opening broader horizons for political, economic, and cultural cooperation, serving the common interests of the two friendly peoples.
Regarding his priorities during the upcoming phase, Nazari emphasized that enhancing economic cooperation is at the forefront of his interests, noting that his country looks forward to holding the fifth session of the Joint Governmental Commission between Tajikistan and Kuwait in Dushanbe soon. He clarified that the upcoming phase offers an important opportunity to advance bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, transport, connectivity, tourism, education, and culture, among other sectors of mutual interest.
He pointed out that the goal is to move relations from the level of existing understanding and cooperation to practical partnerships and projects that add value to both countries and open the door for the private sector and businessmen to take advantage of the opportunities available in the Tajik and Kuwaiti markets.
He praised Kuwait’s role amid the current circumstances facing the region, affirming that his country highly appreciates Kuwait’s role in supporting security and stability. He said that Kuwait plays a pivotal role in addressing conflicts and crises through dialogue, negotiations, and peaceful means, an approach that is highly valued by Tajikistan.
