Meeting of the Gulf Accounting Diwans: Enhancing the Performance of the Supervisory System in GCC Countries

The Auditor General, Essam Al-Roumi, chaired the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the 23rd meeting of the heads of audit and accounting institutions of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in the Bahraini capital of Manama today (Tuesday). Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial, Legal, and Pre-Audit Affairs, Dr. Saud Al-Zamanani, noted that there are commendable efforts by all member states to take swift steps toward enhancing audit work and elevating the performance of the Gulf system. Al-Zamanani pointed out that the synergy and complementarity among Gulf institutions reflect their commitment to keeping pace with new developments and their belief in the importance of joint efforts, which can advance the Gulf cooperation agenda in the fields of audit and accounting and realize all future aspirations and goals. The Kuwaiti delegation, led by Al-Roumi, included Dr. Saud Al-Zamanani, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial, Legal, and Pre-Audit Affairs; Meshal Al-Filakawi, Director of the Technical Office of the Acting Auditor General; and Sultan Al-Muzieel, Senior Administrative Officer at the General Administration of the President’s Office.
