Who are the foreign members of the board of directors of Al-Kuwaitiya?

For the first time since its establishment in 1954, the new board of directors of Kuwait Airways has included three independent foreign members with specialized and international expertise in the aviation sector and related fields: Enrique DuBois de Lomí Chavarri, Giles Agutter, and Ryan van der Aek.

Financial expertise in the travel sector: Enrique DuBois de Lomí Chavarri possesses extensive international experience in finance and accounting, alongside a distinguished track record in the travel industry. He served as a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee at Wizz Air Holdings, a British listed airline group. Previously, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer at International Airlines Group (IAG) and the Spanish airline Iberia. He also held several non-executive roles at Amadeus IT Group, British Airways, and Iberia.

Aviation strategies: Giles Agutter joined LATAM Airlines as a director in April 2017. He is the owner and CEO of Southern Sky Ltd, a consulting firm specializing in the aviation sector, with areas of expertise including aviation strategy, fleet planning, aircraft acquisition and financing, and airports. Agutter has broad experience in the airline industry, including with Qatar Airways, and has participated in significant mergers and acquisitions projects within the aviation sector. He holds a degree in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester and currently resides in England.

Operations and passenger experience: Ryan van der Aek has extensive experience in airline operations and customer service, having worked for more than 20 years with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, where her last role was Head of Customer Experience. Her previous senior executive positions included Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports and Head of Customer Experience for the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone in the UAE. She has also recently held interim executive roles on various boards, including Chief Operating Officer at Mental Beter, a Dutch mental health care organization, and Director of Maintenance and Asset Management at GVB. She previously served as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Child Protection Research Centre (CPRC).
