200 citizens compete for 90 supervisory positions at the Cooperatives
Faisal Matar: The Ministry of Social Affairs announced the commencement of personal interviews for 200 Kuwaiti nationals, men and women, who qualified for the positions of Financial Controller and Administrative Controller in the cooperative sector, on September 23 and 24. This step paves the way for selecting national cadres to fill 90 supervisory positions, comprising 30 Financial Controllers and 60 Administrative Controllers, following the allocation of financial grades for successful candidates in coordination with the Civil Service Bureau.
The Ministry clarified in a press statement that the list of candidates eligible for interviews includes 55 applicants for the Financial Controller position and 145 applicants for the Administrative Controller position. It noted that this phase completes the examinations conducted to select the most competent and deserving elements to undertake supervisory duties in the cooperative sector.
The interview committee will be chaired by the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, and include several ministry specialists, in accordance with established controls and standards, ensuring that all candidates undergo a unified and objective evaluation. The interviews will take place over the two days, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Deputy Minister’s conference hall. Candidates will receive electronic messages specifying their interview times to organize attendance and ensure the smooth flow of procedures.
The Ministry indicated that the personal interview accounts for 10% of the final evaluation, while the written exam constitutes 85% of the total assessment. It emphasized that interviews will be documented visually and audibly to enhance transparency, integrity, and equal opportunity among all candidates. Final results will be officially announced via the Ministry’s website and its official social media accounts to ensure they reach stakeholders through authorized channels.
The Ministry stressed that this phase represents an important step in implementing the plan to Kuwaitize supervisory positions in the cooperative sector, providing opportunities for national talents to assume financial and administrative supervisory responsibilities in cooperative societies, thereby enhancing work efficiency and elevating the level of supervision and oversight.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, issued a directive opening the door for internal transfer requests for ministry employees until the end of September, through authorized channels, without accepting manual submissions. Internal transfers between organizational units across various ministry sectors are available during April and September each year, except for holders of supervisory positions and those with specialized qualifications working in their field of specialization. The directive stipulated the approval of officials in the employee’s current workplace and the destination workplace, with the transfer decision to be endorsed by the Deputy Minister after completing the prescribed procedures.
