Al-Salmiya faces Al-Sahel... and Kazima is a guest of Al-Shabab
Tomorrow will see the conclusion of the third round of the Zain Premier League, with two matches scheduled. The first features Al-Salmiya hosting Al-Sahel at Thamer Stadium in Al-Salmiya, kicking off at 6:35 p.m. The second match sees Al-Shabab hosting Kazma in Ahmadi at 9:10 p.m., rounding out the round’s fixtures.
Al-Sahel, under the guidance of national coach Ali Abdul-Razzaq, aims to continue their impressive performances and secure a positive result—either a draw or a victory—following the solid displays they delivered in the previous two rounds, which included a draw against Kazma and a win over Salibikhaet. They now face a new test against the “Sky Blues.” Meanwhile, Al-Salmiya, led by Bahraini coach Ali Ashour, have bounced back from their opening-round defeat to Al-Nassr by securing a second-round win against Al-Tadamun. Entering today’s clash with three points from two matches, they are naturally seeking a second consecutive victory and looking to halt their points drop.
In the second match, Kazma hope to return to their winning ways after drawing in the previous round against Al-Sahel in a thrilling encounter. The “Orange” side started the season strongly with a win over Al-Tadamun, but today’s fixture against host Al-Shabab will not be easy. Al-Shabab have yet to suffer a defeat in the first two rounds, having beaten Al-Jahra in the opener and drawn with Salibikhaet in the second.
“The Yellow” Return to Winning Ways
The first team of Qadsia Club halted Al-Nassr’s winning streak, handing them their first defeat in this season’s Zain Premier League. The match, part of the third round’s opening fixtures at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium in Qadsia, ended in a clean 3-0 victory for the “Yellow” side, who returned to winning ways after their opening-round win over Fahaheel.
Al-Nassr had finished the second round at the top of the table, sitting alone at the summit with a perfect record, while Qadsia entered the match with three points from one win and one loss.
The encounter saw both teams start strongly, with attacks flowing from both sides until Qadsia opened the scoring through their outstanding Moroccan import, Ayoub Al-Khaddari, who netted from a free-kick in the 15th minute. Qadsia continued to press their advantage, securing the result as Al-Nassr’s influence waned. Player Abdulrahman Al-Mashfari added a second goal in the 26th minute.
In the second half, Qadsia missed several chances to extend their lead, while Al-Nassr continued to struggle, surrendering possession to Qadsia. Al-Mashfari then scored his second goal of the match in the 63rd minute to complete the rout.
With this victory, Qadsia return to the path of wins after stumbling and losing to Al-Kuwait in the previous round, bringing their total to six points from three matches. Meanwhile, Al-Nassr’s tally remains frozen at six points.
Salibikhaet Snatch Draw Point from Al-Arabi
At Sabah Al-Salem Stadium in Mansuriya, Salibikhaet secured a valuable draw against host Al-Arabi in a 3-3 thriller.
Salibikhaet took the lead early through Santos, who scored in the sixth minute, before Kenan Malicko equalized for Al-Arabi in the 13th minute. Bandar Al-Salama then gave Al-Arabi the lead by scoring in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time.
In the second half, Salibikhaet turned the tables, with Abdulaziz Al-Bushra equalizing in the 56th minute, followed by Lucas Chalon’s penalty in the 97th minute to complete the comeback. In the dying moments, when it seemed Salibikhaet had snatched all three points, Al-Arabi’s Abdulwahab Al-Awadi scored an equalizer in the 98th minute, ensuring the points were shared.
With this draw, Al-Arabi moved up to two points, sitting ninth, while Salibikhaet reached their second point, placing them tenth.
