Al-Watani Among the Top 10 Banks in the Region

In a new affirmation of its strong brand and financial stability, Kuwait Finance House topped The Banker magazine’s global ranking of the Top 100 Arab Banks for 2026, leading all banks in Kuwait, while maintaining the ninth position among banks in the region. The Banker based its annual ranking of the Top 100 Arab Banks on several key criteria, including total Tier 1 capital, assets, profitability, asset quality, return on equity (ROE), return on assets (ROA), and operational efficiency. Thanks to its robust financial position and strong financial results, the bank secured the first place in Kuwait by asset size, reaching $147.13 billion, with an ROA of 1.35% and an ROE of approximately 13.42%.

The bank also led in Kuwait regarding the Tier 1 capital criterion, which reached $14.8 billion by the end of 2025, representing a 9.9% year-on-year growth, while topping the list in asset quality and liquidity levels among all Kuwaiti banks. Being included in this ranking underscores the bank’s leadership at both the regional and global levels, demonstrating the strength of its balance sheet and its superior performance compared to other banks in the region across several key financial indicators. Furthermore, its inclusion in the list of the region’s best banks reflects the quality of its profits, which are built on solid foundations across all its main business segments, as well as its unique geographic footprint spanning approximately four continents and 13 countries worldwide.

Notable Awards

It is worth noting that during the past year, in recognition of its efforts to support customers and employees, the bank was among the few institutions honored with several prestigious awards in the field of innovation in digital banking services. The bank also achieved a high score in the customer satisfaction index.

The bank continues to excel with one of the highest credit ratings among most major banks in the Middle East region, as confirmed by the three major global credit rating agencies: Moody’s, Fitch, and Standard & Poor’s. This rating is supported by its strong capitalization, prudent lending policies, systematic risk management approach, as well as the expertise and stability of its administrative and executive teams.

In 2025, the bank reported net profits of 575.6 million Kuwaiti dinars ($1.9 billion), and recorded a 3.6% growth in net operating revenues, reaching 1.3 billion dinars ($4.2 billion) in 2025.

It is worth mentioning that The Banker, published by the renowned British newspaper Financial Times, was established in 1926. It is one of the most prestigious financial publications, conducting surveys to identify the best financial institutions in approximately 120 countries worldwide, highlighting leading and distinguished banks in the global banking community.
