Qatar First in the Middle East and Fourth Globally in the Quality of Life Index

Qatar topped the Middle East and North Africa region in the standard of living index, which includes “per capita income, health services, educational quality, and infrastructure,” and ranked fourth globally, according to the Legatum Prosperity Index 2026, in an achievement that reflects improved quality of life for citizens and residents, according to the Qatari news agency, QNA. Qatar also ranked eighth globally in the development index, which measures living standards, health, and education, reflecting progress in the country’s basic services and infrastructure. The National Council for Planning and Statistics stated that “these results reflect the state’s efforts to implement the Third National Development Strategy 2024–2030, which aims to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, with a focus on social and human development.” It emphasized that Qatar’s advancement in the Legatum Prosperity Index 2026 reflects the success of the development policies pursued by the state to improve quality of life and achieve sustainable development.
