Financial Markets: Continuation of trading for those stripped of their nationality from the 1965 Census

The Capital Markets Authority issued a directive regarding the exercise of trading, buying, and selling rights for shares, sukuk, and financial instruments by individuals whose Kuwaiti nationality has been revoked from the 1965 census category, as part of efforts to regulate the status of this group and ensure the continuation of their prescribed rights and benefits.
It emphasized the necessity for all licensed persons, entities, and individuals subject to the provisions of Law No. (7) of 2010 concerning the establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and the regulation of securities activities, and its executive regulations and amendments, to comply with the controls governing the status of those whose nationality has been revoked and who are included in the 1965 census, as well as those who acquired nationality through them by derivation.
It clarified that the provisions of Paragraph 7 of Cabinet Resolution No. (1355) of 2025 continue to apply to individuals whose nationality was revoked under Article 5/Third, from the 1965 census category, and to those who acquired nationality through them by derivation. This paragraph stipulates the continuation of the right to trade, buy, and sell shares, sukuk, and financial instruments on the Securities Exchange or the Securities Market, whether for individuals or companies owned by persons whose nationality has been revoked, in accordance with any subsequent Cabinet decisions on this matter.
It confirmed the continued application of the verification and authentication mechanism for personal data and information submitted by this group, through original identity documents or certificates issued by the Central Agency for Processing the Status of Illegal Residents, or the civil ID issued via the “Huwiyati” application, provided they are valid, electronically verified, and do not conflict with relevant decisions and instructions.
