$58 Million Annual Salary for Apple's New CEO John Ternus

John Ternus officially assumed the role of chief executive officer at Apple Inc. in early September, and on the same day, the company decided to increase his annual salary, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Ternus’s compensation is divided into two main components, as was the case with his predecessor, Tim Cook. He will receive a base salary of $3 million annually, plus stock awards worth up to $55 million, bringing his total annual compensation for the fiscal year 2027 to $58 million. Although Cook will step down as chief executive officer, he will assume a new position on the board of directors and will receive an annual salary of up to $2 million, along with stock awards worth $45 million for the company’s upcoming fiscal year, according to the report. Apple has set different conditions for Ternus and Cook to receive their respective stock awards, including the company’s overall financial performance, as well as a $2.5 million stock award for Ternus for the remaining months of the 2026 fiscal year, during which he will serve as chief executive officer.
