Kuwait condemns the heinous Iranian attack on a Saudi tanker while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the reprehensible Iranian attack on the Saudi tanker (Sidr) as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in the deaths of the tanker’s crew, in a blatant violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and constituting a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies. In a statement issued today, Wednesday, the Ministry stressed the urgent need for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions and adherence to international law rules that guarantee freedom of navigation, reaffirming Kuwait’s rejection of any attack on the security and safety of maritime navigation. The Ministry renewed Kuwait’s full solidarity with the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing by its side and supporting all measures it undertakes to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its security, and defend its interests.
