Minister of Higher Education: Expanding in disciplines required by the labor market is a priority
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, congratulated the sons and daughters, the accepted students for the academic year 2026/2027, following the completion of admission results across various government higher education institutions and domestic and foreign scholarships. He prayed for their success and achievement in their upcoming academic journey, urging them to utilize the knowledge and expertise they acquire in serving their country and contributing to its progress and advancement.
Minister Al-Jalal clarified that the Ministry, in coordination with higher education institutions, has been keen on providing diverse educational options within the State of Kuwait and abroad for secondary school graduates from government and private schools across different educational systems for the academic years 2024/2025 and 2025/2026. This effort is accompanied by an expansion in majors that meet labor market needs. He emphasized that admission results to government higher education institutions and domestic and foreign scholarships were conducted in accordance with the conditions and standards adopted by each entity, after students fulfilled the admission requirements, thereby reinforcing the principle of equal opportunity and justice. This approach broadens pathways for students to continue their studies in a manner consistent with their qualifications and preferences.
He noted that the university stage is a pivotal milestone in students’ journeys, where their knowledge is shaped, their capabilities are developed, and their experiences are enriched, thereby preparing them to confidently transition into professional life. He stressed that providing educational opportunities for Kuwaiti youth is not merely about university admission, but rather an investment in a generation that will bear the responsibility of building the nation’s future.
Minister Dr. Nader Al-Jalal reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment, in collaboration with higher education institutions, to continue supporting students and enhancing their academic experience by providing an environment that fosters their success and excellence.
