Cabinet Approves Government Sukuk Law

Al-Qabas learned that the Cabinet approved, during its meeting today chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, the draft Law on Government Sukuk. A government source told Al-Qabas that this law will enable diversification of revenue sources, finance the general budget, and manage liquidity in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia. The source added that the law will contribute to supporting financial sustainability and enhancing the country’s economic resilience.
