Justice: Transfer of some judicial departments among provincial courts, effective October 1

The Ministry of Justice announced the implementation of several regulatory measures concerning the transfer of certain judicial circuits among the courts of the governorates, effective today, Tuesday, the beginning of September, and in October, as part of the organization of case registration procedures.

In a press release, the Ministry stated that the measures include the transfer of all civil labor circuits from the governorate courts to the Jahra Court, effective October 1, 2026, with the suspension of registration of new labor cases, while their registration will commence at their new location at the Jahra Court starting today.

It further added that all civil circuits are to be transferred from the Farwaniya Court to the Hawalli Court, effective October 1, 2026, with the suspension of registration of new civil cases at the Farwaniya Court and the commencement of their registration at the Hawalli Court starting today.

The measures also include the transfer of the Farwaniya and Jahra/1 appellate rental circuits from the Jahra Court to the Farwaniya Court, as well as the transfer of several circuits dealing with misdemeanors, municipal and environmental violations, cybercrimes, commercial, and customs offenses among the courts of Jahra, Farwaniya, and Hawalli, effective October 1, 2026.

The Ministry stated that these measures are part of efforts to organize and develop the judicial workflow and achieve greater fluidity in the distribution of circuits and jurisdictions, thereby contributing to the regularity of the registration process and the smooth operation of the courts.
