A poetic verse: Its embers soar high

The poet: Nawaf Al-Rabie – My ember ascends, refining truth. It hangs like a banner on the slopes of arduous trials, suspended from my shoulder, exposing the wound’s source. It thirsts for bullets, while my heart divides the wind’s lightness and opens the heavens’ longing forever, until his prophecies of love were halted... His enemies sent beasts in all directions, yet I guided his paths with the wisdom of concealment, so that exhaustion could not ravage his soul nor shake his stifled cries. Thus came the ember of his impossible deception. How I was once a sea, overflowing—my heart, each time it discovered a new wound at its borders, saw its embers grow redder, and the sea rose within my body.
