Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour Requests Updated Data from Cooperatives on State Property Leases

Faisal Matar: The Ministry of Social Affairs has urgently requested that cooperative societies provide it with updated data on all state property contracts related to buildings and lands under their jurisdiction, as part of an effort to inventory and organize sites belonging to the cooperative sector. The Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies has directed the societies to prepare a table including the name of the society, the area, contract and voucher numbers, and postal codes, along with data on site operators and their activities, and to identify which sites are in use and which are not, and to send this information to the Cooperation Sector at the ministry.

On another front, the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies emphasized the obligation of societies to replace car canopies in accordance with the engineering and technical specifications outlined in the Unified Regulatory Guide, in implementation of directives from the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Social Affairs, aiming to enhance the urban character and achieve visual harmony in public facilities. It clarified that the dimensions and specifications of the canopies must match the sample implemented in the parking area of the Central Market in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer area, block 7. The contractor and the consulting office shall bear responsibility for ensuring the quality of the work and applying safety and security requirements.
