Abdullah Sadiq appointed Airport Services Director and Representative of Qatar Airways in Kuwait
Ibrahim Muhammad – In a move that underscores the importance of local expertise in managing the operations of global airlines, Qatar Airways has appointed Kuwaiti national Abdullah Al-Sadiq as Airport Services Manager and the company’s representative in Kuwait. Al-Sadiq brings over 17 years of experience in the aviation sector, having worked with Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways before assuming his new role at Qatar Airways. He combines in-depth knowledge of the Kuwaiti market with operational expertise and specialized qualifications, having worked in operations, ground services, safety, quality, and training.
During his tenure at Kuwait Airways, Al-Sadiq held roles in safety and quality monitoring, and obtained certification from the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. He also participated in quality and compliance programs, as well as in investigations of incidents and risks related to cargo and ground services. Additionally, he contributed to the development of systems and regulations concerning aviation safety and the secure transport of dangerous goods.
A notable milestone in his career was his participation in the flight crew of KU5001 in March 2020, which transported more than 6,000 kilograms of medical supplies from Hangzhou, China, to Kuwait. The flight lasted approximately 32 hours under exceptional conditions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic and airspace closures.
Al-Sadiq’s professional career is bolstered by a record of specialized aviation qualifications, including two consecutive terms of certification as an Aviation Management Professional from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). He also holds IATA professional diplomas in Civil Aviation Management, Ground Operations, Airport Apron Services for Leadership and Management, and Excellence in Apron Operations. Furthermore, he possesses a Diploma in Total Quality Management for Airlines from the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO). He is also certified as a Quality, Safety, and Risk Assessment Auditor by the Lufthansa Group, and is pursuing a professional qualification in Air Transport Principles and Policies – Safety Track from Carleton University in Canada, expected to be completed in 2027.
