Trump: We have signed the largest oil deal in world history with Venezuela

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the signing of a major deal with Venezuela that would grant access to more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuela’s oil reserves, a move that strengthens rapprochement with the Latin American country following the ouster of former leftist President Nicolás Maduro. Trump, via his Truth Social account, said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had successfully negotiated the deal, which he described as “the largest in the world,” with Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, Maduro’s deputy and former oil minister. According to the U.S. president, this “historic deal” is expected to double American oil reserves, increase oil supplies, and significantly lower gas prices for all Americans for a long time to come.
